Small things

All things matter in this world, especially the small things. You sometimes never notice the small things, only ever the big and unimportant things like, Miley Cyrus just got a haircut or Hillary Duff just got cast into gossip girl. These things are unimportant and have no impact on your life, but things like your child’s first word or your daughter graduating collage are small in the overall world of events they don’t get into the news or the national papers however for the people involved they can be life changing.

When I went to England this year for a visit my Mum had arranged a surprise party for me with all my old school friends and their parents which I had no idea about. I was walking down the stairs in the hotel we were staying in and I saw all my friends at the bottom, waving at me to come down and holding out there arms as if they wanted a hug. I was shocked and so happy to see all of them but the first person I hugged was my Mum to thank her for the surprise then I ran down the stairs and hugged all of my friends. Then we all went outside and talked about our schools and how we missed being together all the time. For most people meeting up with your friends is a daily thing but for me living 4,000 miles away from my friends was amazing and I will never forget it.

Even though I have some amazing new friends in Canada I still do miss my friends in England and them making the effort to turn up to the surprise party and Mum arranging it all was the best ever. For such a small effort from them was such a huge gift to me.
